    In spite of the fact that it is not a looker, the interface is intuitive, clean and should not pose any real challenge with navigation irrespective of your technical skills. While in the middle section of the main window you can import the text document you want to process, you can preview it in the upper panel. The lower region of the UI is dedicated to defining the extraction criteria and displaying the results.

    It would have been nice if the tool allowed you to add documents with drag and drop, supported multiple files processing and came with larger panels for previewing the original content and extraction results. Then again, the program supports the standard Windows commands for copy, paste, undo and redo so at least you can go through documents smoother.

    The idea behind the utility is to enable you to extract numerical values from large text documents with and aggregate the relevant numbers with the corresponding text in just a few clicks. Once the extraction is complete, you can just click on the result and preview its location in the original document, so you can make modifications or copy the paragraph to another document or file.

    You should know that while you can also paste the content into the dedicated field, the import function automatically identifies the numeric values in a text. The utility enables you to edit the expression box by hitting the Expr Edit button from the lower region of the UI. Therefore, you can extract data in a format that can be seamlessly integrated into your report, for instance.
